July Skill Builder: The State of the Region

The presentation will cover the State of the Region for the 15-county Cincinnati Metropolitan Statistical Area. We’ll cover topics like geographic distribution of the population and population projections, economic indicators, community health, and industry growth. The presentation will compare and contrast the Cincinnati region to 21 other metro areas throughout the country and identify our strengths and opportunities across various indicators. The goal is to put as much relevant data as possible into the hands of smart practitioners who are working on solving issues throughout the region.

Speaker bio: Brandon Rudd is the Director of the Center for Research & Data for the Cincinnati Chamber. Prior to joining the Cincinnati Chamber, he led the demographic and employment database development for the OKI Regional Council of Governments, the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Cincinnati region. He has more than a decade of planning and economic development experience in seven states and holds bachelor’s degrees in Urban Planning and Political Science from Ohio University and a master’s degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the Joseph R. Biden School of Public Policy at the University of Delaware. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, bike riding, and traveling with his wife Colleen. One of his traveling goals is to visit every county in the United States. With over 2,000 still to go, it might take a while.
