About the event

Mission, Money, and Marketing

Is it appropriate for 501(c)(3) public charities to allocate resources to marketing at the expense of programming? The answer is an enthusiastic YES! Marketing is how we understand the needs of both our clients and supporters.

Similar to the for-profit sector, nonpprofit marketing encompasses advertising, promotion, public relations, and customer relationship strategies. In this session, we will explore each of these areas and their impact on advancing your organization's mission. Moreover, we will discuss innovative approaches to fundraising and volunteer recruitment. Whether through heartwarming storytelling or engaging social media campaigns, the right marketing strategies can attract much-needed donations and passionate volunteers. Because let's face it, even the most noble causes need a little publicity boost now and then!

About the speaker:

Eddie Bobbitt, M.A., M.Ed.

Eddie is a Post-Secondary Counselor for New Albany Floyd County Schools and an adjunct professor for the School of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Louisville. As an instructor, he teaches graduate courses on nonprofit fundraising and nonprofit marketing.
