About the event
Come be a part of developing an alternative future in which volunteer community is strengthened through the inner habits of mindfulness. The leadership to build teams and support volunteers is an inside job, and it begins at the level of the body. Before we can adequately respond to others we need skills to graciously acknowledge our bodily responses that so often correlate with feelings such as overwhelm, anger, or criticism. When we meet these at the bodily level we have the capacity to be a transformational presence for ourselves and others, without resorting to coercion or abandoning. Join CAVA and and Troy Bronsink as we learn and practice these skill together.
Burnout, blame, or blowups do not need to be the norm. Belonging is possible.
Come learn how to:
1. Lead a mindful culture of belonging with your volunteers.
2. Slow down your breath in order to welcome the information your body is sending you
3. Expand your resilience to acknowledge your personal feelings before they settle into fixed stories of blame or victimization.
4. Establish habits for your team to communicate from this mindful state in psychologically safe ways that result in belonging.
